Softball Recap: Walnut Ridge Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Walnut Ridge challenged Manila on Tuesday. The Bobcats walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Lions. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Ashtyn Bradley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Karlee Broadway was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mallory Moore, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Walnut Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Manila, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Walnut Ridge is set to challenge their familiar foe Hoxie at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Manila will face off against rival Rivercrest at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
