Baseball Recap: Maple Heights Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Maple Heights had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 16-4 to the Wickliffe Blue Devils on Saturday.

Maple Heights saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was TJ Lee, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another was Lashaun Carr, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maple Heights will square off against Villa Angela-St. Joseph at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wickliffe, they will take on Independence at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Wickliffe is facing Independence at the right time seeing as Independence is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
