Basketball Recap: Overbrook Starts Season with Loss at Home

Overbrook unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 42-41 to the Freire Charter Dragons. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adonis Rozier, who posted nine points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cairi Dotson, who earned seven points and six boards.

The victory got Freire Charter back to even at 1-1.

Overbrook wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-37 loss against Chichester on the 2nd. As for Freire Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-54 win against Philadelphia Academy Charter on the 2nd.
