Recap: Whale Branch Warriors vs. Hampton County Hurricanes
The Whale Branch Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell to Hampton County 56-50. Whale Branch has struggled against Hampton County recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Laron Wright, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradford Thompson, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.
Hampton County was led to victory by Kavon Chisolm and Joshua Goodman. Chisolm scored ten points along with nine rebounds, while Goodman scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Darius Brooks, who scored six points.
Whale Branch now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Hampton County, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Whale Branch will head out on the road to square off against Branchville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hampton County, they will be playing at home against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Woodland is ranked 48th, while Hampton County is ranked 72nd).
