Basketball Recap: Merritt Island Christian Comes Up Short

Merritt Island Christian played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 66-40 to the Orangewood Christian Rams. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Orangewood Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryne Ruemler led the charge by going 6 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and three steals. Those 20 points gave Ruemler a new career-high. Ethan Toadvine was another key player, going 7 for 15 on his way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Merritt Island Christian now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Orangewood Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-13.

Merritt Island Christian has already played their next matchup, a 57-45 loss against Calvary Chapel Academy on the 3rd. As for Orangewood Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-38 defeat against Faith Christian on the 3rd.
