'Iolani faced Punahou in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Buff n' Blue. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Buff n' Blue: they've now won seven in a row.

'Iolani never let Punahou on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 28-26.

Leading 'Iolani to victory were Maddix Taniguchi and Mary Kate Kawakami. Taniguchi had nine digs and two aces, while Kawakami had three digs and two aces. What's more, Taniguchi posted four assists, the most she's had over her last nine contests.

'Iolani's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Punahou, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-12.
