Softball Recap: Lumberton Comes Up Short

Lumberton might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Kirbyville who claimed the real prize. The Lumberton Raiders took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kirbyville Wildcats. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lumberton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Kirbyville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lumberton will head out to challenge Jasper at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jasper has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.11 runs per game on average), something Lumberton will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kirbyville, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats duke it out with the Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
