Basketball Recap: A.L. Brown Comes Up Short

A.L. Brown lost against Hickory Ridge back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The A.L. Brown Wonders were dealt a 66-21 defeat at the hands of the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls. The Wonders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-8.

Despite the loss, A.L. Brown still got an impressive performance from London Gray, who posted 15 points.

Jada Powell was nothing short of spectacular for Hickory Ridge: she went 8 for 14 on her way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Miranda Duley was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

A.L. Brown's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Hickory Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

A.L. Brown will head out to square off against Cox Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hickory Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South Iredell at 6:00 p.m. Hickory Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season.
