Baseball Recap: Trinity Prep Comes Up Short

Trinity Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 8-2 to The Villages Charter Buffalo. That's two games in a row now that the Saints have lost by exactly six runs.

Connor Brady put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Brady wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Gilmer, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Trinity Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for The Villages Charter, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Trinity Prep will look to defend their home field on Friday against Orangewood Christian at 6:30 p.m. As for The Villages Charter, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mount Dora at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buffalo's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hurricanes have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
