The John Glenn Little Muskies will head out on the road to square off against the Zanesville Blue Devils at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

John Glenn couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. Their rough 11-0 loss to West Muskingum on Thursday might stick with them for a while.

Even though Zanesville couldn't quite topple Ridgewood on Thursday, it was still a huge improvement compared to the ten-point defeat they took when the two last played. Zanesville blew past Ridgewood 9-2. The win was just what Zanesville needed coming off of an 11-2 loss in their prior game.

Avery Mohler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits.

On the hitting side, Riley Needles was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Noah Darnes was another key contributor, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

John Glenn suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Zanesville in their previous matchup back in April of 2018. Thankfully for John Glenn, Brody Rutledge (who didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit over five innings pitched) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
