Football Recap: Russell Takes a Loss

If Russell was feeling good fresh off their 41-0 takedown of Paintsville last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Devils were beaten by the Blazer Tomcats 42-0 on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Red Devils, who until this contest were averaging 13 points allowed.

Russell's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Blazer, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Russell and Blazer will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Red Devils are set to face off against their familiar foe Fleming County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Blazer will square off against rival Greenup County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
