Softball Recap: Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Comes Up Short

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against The First Academy Royals, falling 17-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 last Saturday.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaliannah McMillan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Caleigh Schmoll also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for The First Academy, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Coming up, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy will challenge Bayside at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for The First Academy, they will take on Geneva at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with the Royals sitting on five straight wins and the Knights on four.
