Baseball Game Preview: Goddard Rockets vs. Los Alamos Hilltoppers

For the second straight game, Goddard will face off against Los Alamos. The Rockets will head out on the road to square off against the Hilltoppers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Goddard is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over Los Alamos. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Cameron Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Goddard got a massive performance out of Brady Duer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The Rockets are undefeated when Duer posts two or more runs, but 7-14 otherwise. Airell Aguilar was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Goddard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

The win snapped Goddard's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-14 record. As for Los Alamos, their loss ended a 19-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-6.
