Softball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson fell victim to Harlandale and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to the Harlandale Indians, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost five in a row.

Mia Torres was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two doubles. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in doubles.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Harlandale, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

We've got a battle between Mustangs coming up. Jay's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Jefferson's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Harlandale, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lanier at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
