Softball Recap: Granite City Warriors vs. Triad Knights
Granite City had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 8-16 to make it five. They lost 18-3 to the Triad Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 8-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
Chloe Randolph made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Shelbie Borth also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
As for Triad, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Considering they have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
On Triad's side, Lil Lintz and Syd Horn did most of the damage at the plate: Lintz went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Horn went 4-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.
