Softball Game Preview: Choate Rosemary Hall School Wild Boars vs. Ethel Walker

For the first time this season, Choate Rosemary Hall School will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will face off against Ethel Walker at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Choate Rosemary Hall School will be strutting in after a win while Ethel Walker will be coming in after a defeat.

Choate Rosemary Hall School gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Hamden Hall Country Day as they made off with a 15-3 victory.

Meanwhile, Ethel Walker had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Kingswood Oxford on Wednesday, falling 8-0. The loss continues a trend for Ethel Walker in their meetings with Kingswood Oxford: they've now lost three in a row.

Ayden Riendeau put in work while hitting and pitching. She tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits. Riendeau was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases.

Riendeau wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kara Dabkowski, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Choate Rosemary Hall School skirted past Ethel Walker 6-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wild Boars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
