Baseball Game Preview: Edgemont Panthers vs. Rye Garnets

The Edgemont Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Rye Garnets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Edgemont is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Edgemont fell victim to Port Chester and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-0. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly two runs.

Meanwhile, Rye got themselves on the board against Hendrick Hudson last Saturday, but Hendrick Hudson never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Sailors. The Garnets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Edgemont's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Rye, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Edgemont suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Rye in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
