Softball Game Preview: Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners vs. Sierra Vista Mountain Lions

Southeast Career Tech is 0-3 against Sierra Vista since April of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners will host the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions at 3:30 p.m. One thing working in Southeast Career Tech's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games.

Sierra Vista's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: Southeast Career Tech hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Southeast Career Tech's pitcher stepped up to hand Eldorado a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Roadrunners in their matchups with the Firehawks: they've now won four in a row.

Bea Robinson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Southeast Career Tech got a massive performance out of Aysia Suyat, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Zariyah West, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Southeast Career Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .550. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .464 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Sierra Vista came up short against Bishop Gorman on Friday, falling 9-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their meetings with the Gaels: they've now lost three in a row.

Sierra Vista saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Logan, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Sierra Vista's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Southeast Career Tech, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Southeast Career Tech couldn't quite get it done against Sierra Vista in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can Southeast Career Tech avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
