Football Recap: South Loup Skates Past Sandhills Valley with Ease

There's no place like home for South Loup, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 46-6 victory over the Sandhills Valley Mavericks. With South Loup ahead 30-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

South Loup had a senior duo take command as Dylan Pandorf rushed for 47 yards and three touchdowns and Conner Paulsen gained 104 total yards and two touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Pandorf. Crew Witthuhn made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something South Loup proved: they limited Sandhills Valley to a paltry 0.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Paxton Bierman for the heroic effort on defense: he. South Loup's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.9.

South Loup didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Witthuhn led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

South Loup's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Sandhills Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
