Baseball Recap: Center Takes a Loss

Center had lost six straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it seven. They came up short against the Buena Vista Demons, falling 19-2. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 13-1 to the Demons when the teams met back in April of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Center saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Ruggles, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

As for Buena Vista, they moved to 4-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

On Buena Vista's side, they let Knox Reid and Hudson Wingo run wild. Reid got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Wingo went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Reid has posted since back in April of 2024. Logan Scott also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Center has already played their next game, a 23-8 defeat against Dolores on the 25th. As for Buena Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 19-4 win against Rangely on the 25th.
