Softball Preview: Bayshore Bruins vs. DeSoto County Bulldogs

Bayshore hasn't had much luck against DeSoto County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bruins will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Bayshore made easy work of Gibbs and carried off a 23-8 win. Considering the Bruins have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, DeSoto County entered their tilt with Hardee on Thursday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by just one run.

Mya Goodnoe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 5.2 innings pitched. Goodnoe was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Emery Skinner was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
