Recap: High Point Central Bison vs. Dudley Panthers
This season hasn't been kind to the High Point Central Bison, who are still winless after their 17th matchup. They were outmatched by Dudley at home and fell 51-15. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for High Point Central in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.
High Point Central lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eleanor Ilderton, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Ilderton grabbed two or more steals. Serenity Mac was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, High Point Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
High Point Central's loss was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Dudley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. High Point Central will take on the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern Guilford has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29. As for Dudley, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Chiefs at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th. Carlisle is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
