Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Alamance Eagles vs. Southern Alamance Patriots

The Eastern Alamance Eagles will face off against the Southern Alamance Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Eastern Alamance's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Southern Alamance has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Last Friday, Eastern Alamance made easy work of Person and carried off a 65-45 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Rockets are ranked 399th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Southern Alamance played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Orange 56-17. The Patriots were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Eastern Alamance will have to contain Sarah Kathryn Maness as she made an impact in Southern Alamance's last game. She posted nine points. That was a full 52.9% of Southern Alamance's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Eastern Alamance has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points over those games. As for Southern Alamance, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.

Everything came up roses for Eastern Alamance against Southern Alamance in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 63-24 win. Will Eastern Alamance repeat their success, or does Southern Alamance have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
