Soccer Game Preview: Mayfair vs. Bishop Amat

The Mayfair Monsoons and the Bishop Amat Lancers will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mayfair fell victim to Artesia and their airtight defense on Monday. They fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 1-0. The Monsoons haven't had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bishop Amat, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over Claremont on Monday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Lancers considering their one-goal performance the match before.

They hit Claremont with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jancarlo Hernandez (2), Eduardo Jr Moreno, and Sebastian Saucedo.

Bishop Amat pushed their record up to 9-1-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four contests. As for Mayfair, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7-1.

Mayfair came up short against Bishop Amat in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 3-1. Can Mayfair avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
