Recap: Frankfort Redbirds vs. Goreville Blackcats
This season hasn't been kind to the Frankfort Redbirds, who are still winless after their sixth match. They were beaten by Goreville 57-23 on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Frankfort in their matchups with Goreville: they've now lost four in a row.
Abby Compton was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals for Goreville. That makes it six consecutive games in which Compton has scored at least 25% of Goreville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Breanna Suits, who scored 12 points along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds.
Frankfort's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Goreville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankfort will face off against Harrisburg at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Goreville will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Christopher at 6:00 p.m. on November 30th. Christopher will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Goreville is ranked 66th).
