Basketball Game Preview: Spanish Fork Dons vs. Salem Hills Skyhawks

Spanish Fork is 2-8 against Salem Hills since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Spanish Fork Dons will head out to challenge the Salem Hills Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. Spanish Fork is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season.

Spanish Fork will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Maple Mountain, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Spanish Fork escaped with a win on Friday against Maple Mountain by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47.

Brock Jacobson was the offensive standout of the match as he posted 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Ben Clayson was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Salem Hills played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 72-50 to Springville. While losing is never fun, the Skyhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Red Devils are ranked 20th).

Spanish Fork's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Salem Hills, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Spanish Fork strolled past Salem Hills in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 71-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spanish Fork since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
