Baseball Recap: Kirtland Find Success

Kirtland won the last time they faced Grand Valley and things went their way on Monday too. The Hornets walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Mustangs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Max Paul looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luciano Cantini was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Kirtland's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Grand Valley, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-6 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kirtland will welcome Riverside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grand Valley, they will take on Newton Falls at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
