Baseball Game Preview: Woodridge Bulldogs vs. Coventry Comets

For the second straight game, Woodridge will face off against Coventry. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Woodridge turned things around against Coventry on Monday. They put the hurt on the Comets with a sharp 9-2 win. The Bulldogs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 12-2).

Josh Rush was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jack Sweatt was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Noah Lancy also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Woodridge's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Coventry, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
