Basketball Recap: Parkway West Takes a Loss

Parkway West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 59-33 to KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy. The HOYAS lost against KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 53-50 score last time.

KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ralim Brown led the charge by going 5 for 10 en route to 12 points along with six steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Anderson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten blocks.

Parkway West's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkway West will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Philadelphia Military Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy, they will welcome Mastery Charter Hardy Williams at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season.
