Baseball Game Preview: Hempfield Area Spartans vs. Stagg Chargers

The Hempfield Area Spartans will head out to challenge the Stagg Chargers at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hempfield Area's last matchup with Pine-Richland could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. Hempfield Area came up short against Pine-Richland, falling 11-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost three in a row.

Hempfield Area saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Firmstone, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Stagg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 10-3 to Our Lady of Good Counsel.

Stagg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hempfield Area, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
