Dakota is a perfect 4-0 against Utica since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. Dakota's defense has only allowed 11 points per game this season, so Utica's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Dakota took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Utica Eisenhower by a score of 14-7.

The critical scores for Dakota came from Aiden Bashaw and Anthony (Aj) Arini.

One reason for the win was Dakota's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Noah Raxter refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Utica Eisenhower's side was Braden Schulte, who picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Utica waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They really took it to the Crusaders for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-0 victory. That 44 point margin sets a new team best for the Chieftains this season.

Utica's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Dakota, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything came up roses for Dakota against Utica in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 31-0 win. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chieftains turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
