Softball Game Preview: California Trojans vs. Frazier Commodores

California hasn't had much luck against Frazier recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Commodores at 4:45 p.m. California is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

California is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Jefferson-Morgan on Tuesday. They came up short against the Rockets, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.

California saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayla Saeli, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Saeli's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Frazier had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Vikings.

Frazier's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for California, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

California might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Frazier in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
