Basketball Game Preview: Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers vs. Dugger Union Bulldogs

After both having extra time off, the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers and the Dugger Union Bulldogs will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Indiana School for the Deaf and ten for Dugger Union dating back to last season.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-19, which was the final score in Indiana School for the Deaf's tilt against Cambridge City Lincoln two weeks ago. The matchup marked the Deaf Hoosiers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Dugger Union played a tough game last Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 67-24 defeat at the hands of Tecumseh. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-15.

Indiana School for the Deaf will have to keep a close watch on Linkin Frazee and Weselon Smith, a pair of players who had a big impact on Dugger Union's prior game. Frazee posted six points and seven rebounds, while Smith earned seven points. Those seven boards gave Frazee a new career-high.

Indiana School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Dugger Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Indiana School for the Deaf won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January of 2019, slipping by Dugger Union 48-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Indiana School for the Deaf since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
