Soccer Recap: First Baptist School Comes Up Short

First Baptist School came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-0 to the Porter-Gaud Cyclones. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Cyclones are ranked first).

With the loss, First Baptist School broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4. As for Porter-Gaud, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Baptist School will welcome Southside Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. First Baptist School has given up an average of 2.7 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Porter-Gaud, they will be playing in front of their home fans against John Paul II at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
