Basketball Recap: Colfax-Mingo Takes a Loss

Colfax-Mingo lost against Lynnville-Sully back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks were beaten by the Lynnville-Sully Hawks 56-28. While losing is never fun, the Tigerhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Hawks are ranked 106th).

Colfax-Mingo has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Lynnville-Sully, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colfax-Mingo will square off against Montezuma at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Montezuma will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Colfax-Mingo surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lynnville-Sully, they will face off against North Mahaska at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Mahaska's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Lynnville-Sully's offense will have their work cut out for them.
