River Hill and Atholton are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The River Hill Hawks will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Atholton Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as River Hill comes in on three and Atholton on four.
Last Thursday, River Hill got the win against Mt. Hebron by a conclusive 3-0.
Meanwhile, Atholton made easy work of Centennial on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.
While Atholton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-20.
Atholton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Angel Zhou led the charge by getting 16 digs and 18 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Mason, who had 19 digs.
River Hill's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Atholton, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4.
