Baseball Recap: Muleshoe Comes Up Short

Muleshoe lost a heartbreaker to Idalou when they met back in April of 2018, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. Muleshoe lost 10-1 to Idalou. The Mules have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Muleshoe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mauricio Herrera, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Herrera has become a key player for Muleshoe: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-8 otherwise.

Muleshoe now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Idalou, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Muleshoe is set to challenge their familiar foe Friona at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Idalou will square off against rival Littlefield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
