The Richfield Wildcats will head out to  face off against the Providence Hall Patriots  at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. Both come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Richfield came out on top against Ogden  on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Wildcats took their   game against the Tigers   9-6. The  win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
 Garrett Wayman made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits. Wayman was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Jess Curtis and  Malik Fautin did most of the damage at the plate:  Curtis  got on base  in two of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI, while  Fautin  went 2-for-4 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. Fautin has become a key player for Richfield: the team is 4-2 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 4-14 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Providence Hall had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of  13-10. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Like Richfield, Providence Hall also got a great game from a two-way player:  Andrew Taylor. On the mound, he  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  Taylor has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Tatem Bowen was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI and one  run. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in March.  McCade Edwards was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with two  runs and two  RBI.
 Providence Hall was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .367 or higher in three consecutive  matches.
 Providence Hall's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 14-7. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Richfield, their record is now 8-16.
Providence Hall's pitching crew better be locked in  on Monday. Richfield hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 0.4  home runs per game. It's a different story for Providence Hall, though, as  they've been averaging  only 0  home runs. Will they be able to keep Richfield in the park?
 Richfield took their  victory against Providence Hall  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2023 by a conclusive  10-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success,  or do  the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
