Softball Game Preview: Weber Warriors vs. Syracuse Titans

The Weber Warriors will head out to square off against the Syracuse Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Weber is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Weber fell victim to Davis and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Darts, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Syracuse made easy work of Farmington on Friday and carried off a 15-9 win. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Nineveh Franco was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paizlee Prathan, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Syracuse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They are 9-4 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Syracuse's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-10. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Weber, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-18.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Weber hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Syracuse struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Weber might still be hurting after the 18-9 loss they got from Syracuse when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
