Basketball Recap: Carroll County Falls Despite Big Games from Callie Harris and Cc Mitchell

Carroll County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 39-23 fall against the Martinsville Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-32 back in December of 2024.

Carroll County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cc Mitchell, who posted eight points, and Callie Harris, who earned four points. Mitchell is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played. Kenzey McMillian also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Carroll County's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Martinsville, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Carroll County will welcome Radford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Martinsville, they will venture away from home to face off against Magna Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
