Football Recap: Delta Comes Up Short

Delta extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They took a blow against the South Sevier Rams, falling 69-27. On the bright side, the 27- point performance marked the Rabbits' highest-scoring matchup to date.

When it comes to explaining why Delta lost, don't look at Korver Pace. Despite the final result, he picked up 141 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Pace really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 75 yards. Delta also got help from Kaden Kolste, who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.

As for South Sevier, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.3 points on average this season.

South Sevier was led to victory by Bridger Bradshaw and Cooper Castle. Bradshaw threw for 229 yards and five TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, while Castle picked up 151 receiving yards and three scores. Those five passing touchdowns gave Bradshaw a new career-high. Hudson Flinders helped Bradshaw out on the ground, rushing for 74 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.

Coming up, Delta will take on Carbon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rabbits will be up against the Dinos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.86 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for South Sevier, they will face off against Emery at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
