Basketball Preview: Glenrock Herders vs. Wheatland Bulldogs
Glenrock is 1-9 against the Bulldogs since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Glenrock Herders will head out on the road to take on the Wheatland Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Glenrock will be strutting in after a victory while the Bulldogs will be coming in after a loss.
Glenrock scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They secured a 55-50 W over Moorcroft. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Glenrock considering their 21-point performance the matchup before.
Meanwhile, Wheatland faced the Bison in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wheatland took a 56-38 bruising from the Bison on Friday. It was the first time this season that Wheatland let down their fans at home.
Glenrock's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8. As for Wheatland, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
Glenrock didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Bulldogs in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glenrock since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
