Baseball Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short

Westlake managed to slip by Lakewood the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Demons lost 10-3 to the Rangers on Monday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Demons, who until this contest were averaging 3.23 runs allowed.

Nicholas Sherwood made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Jaxon Alvis also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Westlake has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season. As for Lakewood, the win keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

While Westlake had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
