Volleyball Recap: Celebration Storm vs. Timber Creek Wolves

If Celebration was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Gateway last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Storm lost 3-0 to the Timber Creek Wolves on Thursday. The Storm were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in March of 2021.

Celebration was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Timber Creek work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 26-24, 25-16.

Daniel Santiago paced Celebration's offense, picking up 15 kills. Santiago got some help from Oliver Binet and his 25 assists. Finally, Marius Petrikas kept Celebration's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Timber Creek was led to victory by Diego Galan Reyes and Chase Jordan. Galan Reyes had 12 digs and two assists, while Jordan had 14 assists. Jordan is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Celebration has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Timber Creek, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 19-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Celebration will host Poinciana Christian Preparatory at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Storm surely won't give up without a fight. As for Timber Creek, they will welcome Lake Howell at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
