Softball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield's last matchup with Eastside could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Falcons lost 10-1 to the Blazers. The Falcons have struggled against the Blazers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Fairfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Eastside, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfield will welcome Central Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eastside, they will be playing at home against Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blazers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
