The South Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Wickliffe Blue Devils at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. South knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Wickliffe likes a good challenge.
South's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Shaker Heights as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Halle Zupancic was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Zupancic was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jenna Heil, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Ava Proctor was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shaker Heights only posted an OBP of .000.
Meanwhile, while it was Wickliffe who put the first runs on the board on Wednesday, it was Crestwood who put up more. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 5-4.
Like South, Wickliffe also got a great game from a two-way player: Leigha Blazetic. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Blazetic has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Audrey Musgrave made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
South's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Wickliffe, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. South has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wickliffe struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
South might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Wickliffe in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
