Flag Football Game Preview: Capistrano Valley Cougars vs. Tesoro Titans

Capistrano Valley hasn't had much luck against Tesoro recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Titans at 6:00 p.m. Capistrano Valley has given up an average of 26 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Capistrano Valley's offense might be in the hot seat on Monday considering what happened against Tesoro on Monday. They were beaten by the Titans 38-0. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 575th, while the Titans are ranked 87th).

Tesoro found their leader in sophomore Chloe Gillis, who threw for 249 yards and four TDs while completing 77.8% of her passes. Jenna Tuttle also helped with two scores in total.

Tesoro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Noey Sawtelle, Elyse Thomas, and Samantha Taylor picked up one apiece. Taylor got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Tesoro and bumps their season record up to 14-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.5 points over those games. As for Capistrano Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
