Basketball Recap: Fort Lupton Takes a Loss

Fort Lupton dropped to 11-10 on Monday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They took a blow against the Kennedy Commanders, falling 58-14. If the Bluedevils were looking for revenge after losing 53-6 to the Commanders when the teams met back in December of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Fort Lupton lost, don't look at Kianna Lenox. Despite the final result, she posted four points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Rosales, who scored four points.

As for Kennedy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-4. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Kennedy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Autumn Rutter led the charge by shooting 50% from the field on her way to 16 points and four steals. Makayla Johnson was another key player, going 6-for-11 to rack up 13 points along with five assists and three steals.

Coming up, Fort Lupton will welcome Skyview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
