Soccer Game Preview: Western vs. Coral Glades

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Western challenge the Coral Glades at 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday... Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Western managed to keep up with Cooper City until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Western came up short against Cooper City, falling 5-1. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Coral Glades fell victim to Cardinal Gibbons and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 8-0 to the Chiefs. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Chiefs are ranked 57th).

Western's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Coral Glades, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7-3.

Western came up short against Coral Glades in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Western avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
