Baseball Recap: Presbyterian Christian Beats Madison-Ridgeland Academy for Their Fourth Straight Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Presbyterian Christian had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots. The win was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won four games in a row.

Bankston Walters was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Presbyterian Christian is 11-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 10-11 otherwise. Walters was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Walters wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jet Henderson, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Presbyterian Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-13. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, they moved to 20-13 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Presbyterian Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
